I did a bash of a (male) mod and a rocker from the 1960s some time ago. I decided to give my mod (Dave) a girlfriend, Lizzie.
Most people's image of the mods is with scooters with big windshields and lots of mirrors, as in the movie Quadrophenia. In the early stages mods kept their scooters more or less as sold, the customisations with mirrors etc were later in the mod era. Here are a couple of period photos to show this:
At the time crash helmets were not legally compulsory. Most mods would have regarded it as "uncool" (not their term) to wear a helmet. However, it was fairly common for parents of girls to try to insist they wear a helmet before riding on the back of their boyfriend's scooter. They would often carry it with them but not wear it, except when at risk of being seen by their parents. I hope that you like them.
