2.0? 1.2, maybe. Looks like the only significant change from trusty 'ol Jane is the change from the abdominal ball joint to an upper torso joint.
Here's the inside story on the classic collection Jane frame.
And something a bit less transparent.

i think the fact that it has an entirely new torso, hands, and a different neck assembly constitutes calling it a 2.0

non-poseable neck? I take it back.. It's Jane 0.8.

Well I give Hasbro credit for trying,....but I'm not too sure this is a step ahead. I don't mind the torso change, looks nice, however I'm not
thrilled with less articulation in the neck. Yes that head suffers from the Sideshow Syndrome..looks way out of scale. Hard, molded hair will also limit
whatever little articulation there was in the neck I'm afraid. Also the hip area is suffering. I can see using existing molds and all for the legs, but
thats a huge space around the joint. They probably should have looked at that a bit closer in my opinion.

20 bucks says they mold the torso in black plastic like that ,so the doll can't be "naked" and offend anyone's delicate sensibilities...

I agree with Tonzez; and oh man Island, I hope they don't mold the torso in black. Yech. -Omar

Island Of Toys wrote: That would not surprise me whatsoever. Mattel now molds panties on their fashion dolls ( in skin tone ), so this would not be far fetched. |

the torso probably won't be black... this picture is of a "first shot" prototype... they are often molded in weird colors...

With no apparent upgrades to the 10 year old classic collection, single hinged elbows and knees, this prototype figure is far behind the articulation times.
The delta from classic Jane seems to be to lose the neck articulation, move the waist articulation up, and change the hands and feet. To me, that's a net loss of poseability over the classic Jane. The only company doing _less_ articulation is Mattel with their Babs & Friends lines. Then again, Hasbro insisted on holding onto its HallOfFame equivalent articulation for most of the Star Wars figure line, so I guess I shouldn't be too surprised.

Thanks for the pic, Auret...definitely not one for the body bashers around here, but I still want to try and get one of these. I'm surprised they changed
it at all to be honest, really going for a more vampy silhoutte. I'll get this, just because it's hasbro's first foray into a 12" version of
an iconic RAH character. Too bad about the simplified neck articulation...that's the tradeoff for new body tooling, I guess?

I'm glad to see Hasbro dusting off the Jane body. It doesn't matter whether it's a .8 or a 5.0, I'm glad to see them investing a little more in
this design! From the looks of this figure, it's way too early to make conclusions about what color the body will be molded in, much less about the head
design. The neck design doesn't necessarily mean a significant loss of articulation; especially for some gain in aesthetics. I have to agree with Scott
about the elbow and knees, and this is where I think the figure really falls short. Hasbro should bring this figure up to parity with the Super Articulated
Joe's knees and elbows. I think this is especially true if they're going to be charging a premium for licensed figures. I'm always glad to see more
kitbashing material from Hasbro. Greg
