I recently purchased 5 of the series 1 TTL heads from Viking Playground, including two of the heads with long wavy brown hair (order # TTA002)
When I got the heads out of their packaging, one of the long wavy brown haired heads had such outrageous curl in it that it looked like...well...a VERY bad case of "zero gravity hair". I mean, seriously big hair...
So, out came the big stockpot, a long wooden dowel and I proceeded with a standard "dunk-n-boil" job to take the curl out. Now she's got nice long hair that hangs down past her derriere, so I'm going to cut it. But based on past experience, even with an extremely sharp pair of scissors, the hair strands tend to slide along the edge of the scissor blade, resulting in a crooked cut, and much re-trimming to even it all out.
So here are some questions for all of you hair experts out there...what are the best scissors to use for such small cutting tasks?
Also, do any of you use clippers or trimmers for your work? Actual barbering tools?
Me, I plan to take about 1 1/2 inches of length from the hair, and I'm tempted to use an old nose hair/sideburn/mustache trimmer I have for thinning the hair once cut, and taking out any stray kinks/split ends that remain.
Please, reveal your secrets here! We'll start this as an archive thread for anyone wantng to learn about 1/6th hairstyling.
Many thanks to all!
Randy
