First, look at the sole of your Otaku's foot. You'll see a circle at the heel. Pry it out with a sharp object. I used an X-acto knife. Needless to say, be careful not to cut yourself. It's actually a cover, hiding a screw in the foot. It looks like this:
The screw next to the Foot Screw Cover (FSC) came from a Tamiya mini 4WD racing car that I found in my old spare parts box. You'll need to find one of similar size.
Next, cut and sand away the shaded area as shown in this diagram:
Also, make a hole in the centre of the FSC.
The FSC will end up looking like this:
Note: In this pic, I've decided to use a shorter screw with a 'deeper' thread. I assume this screw might have a better grip on the leg. I took this screw from the foot. And I put the long screw (seen in the first pic) back in the foot.
After that, find a drill bit exactly the same size as the diameter of the FSC:
And drill a hole in the crotch area:
Now put the screw through the hole of the FSC. The screw's head should fit in the 'bowl' of the FSC, but NOT completely pass through.
Next, drill a tiny hole in the leg:
This is what you'll get:
Then screw the FSC into the hole in the leg:
The screw should stay fixed in the leg, while allowing the FSC to spin freely. The FSC will later be glued to the hole in the crotch (no, not that hole
Apply some grease around the screw:
Finally, apply superglue around the outside edge of the FSC. Then push it into the hole in the crotch and you're done.
Just be careful not to superglue the screw to the FSC, these two components must not be glued to each other. You should be safe if you greased this area properly.
That's it! The Otaku stands again:
Bitchin/callous, if you're reading this and see anything wrong, feel free to correct me! I am merely following your method after all...
